"Making love and taking pictures are very similar activities when it comes to women," says Stern, who became famous with his bedding session with Marilyn Monroe and "Lolita with heart glasses" photo. It was used on a poster for Stanley Kubrick's "Lolita".
The film begins in a typical biography. However, the portrait of a celebrity photographer turns into a fun and interesting exchange of stories between 82-year-old Stern and one of his muses - Shannah Laumeister. She is the director of the film.
"Bert Stern. Real Madman" is divided into parts and filled with photos, interviews and scenes from Stern's life, as well as romantic music. Laumeister shows us the story of a man who worshipped women - his models, and by elevating them to a pedestal, he made them icons of style and fashion. At the same time, however, he could not share everyday life with them. The film presents an intimate and delicate portrait of a loved man who had everything in his life, but who also lost everything.
