We invite you to take part in a colourful monotype workshop, accompanying the exhibition within the 11th Vintage Photo Festival. During this creative meeting, participants will learn about colour theory and put it into practice while exploring a highly effective yet simple printmaking technique – monotype. Invented by the Italian painter Giovanni Castiglione in the 17th century, monotype remains popular to this day. The technique assumes that each print is unique, which makes the process of creating images on paper filled with a sense of mysterious uncertainty – almost like developing photographs in a darkroom.
During the workshop, we will use plants, magazine clippings, and various objects, which will come to life on sheets of paper immersed in a palette of vibrant colours. All works created during the session can be taken home as keepsakes.
