The artist presents a series of photographs depicting his family. The aim of the project is to show refugees in the light of the dramatic experiences that they went through to break free from the regime.
My name is Major Sium Yimesghen, and I am a citizen of Eritrea. I currently live in Malta, I am a refugee (I am waiting for resettlement to a third country). The goal of my artistic project is to show the realities of life of emigrants and refugees; to tell others that people are running away from their homeland, having no other choice but to free themselves from the shackles of dictatorship, tyranny, crime, torture, slavery, political crises and civil war.
