28.09.2025 | 16:00
Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum in Bydgoszcz (Audiovisual room), Gdańska 4, Bydgoszcz
The event will be held in Polish.
The publication Foto(Art)Dialog by Krzysztof Jabłonowski is not just a collection of conversations about photography. It is a profound, multi-threaded reflection on the place of the photographic image in our rapidly changing contemporary world. Structured around transcriptions of interviews conducted by the author with outstanding figures from the worlds of art, culture, and science, the book forms an exceptionally engaging record of a time in which photography – seemingly common and accessible – today requires from its creators more awareness, responsibility, attentiveness, and knowledge than ever before.
Among the interviewees are distinguished artists, curators, theorists, and practitioners. Their reflections, though diverse, share a common thread: a deep awareness of photography’s role as a cultural, aesthetic, and social tool. Each brings a unique context to the conversation – from analyses of photography’s place in contemporary art, to its presence in media and advertising, to questions of image ethics and the future of artistic education.
