Monochrome Leica vs. analog photography on the example of Jacob Sobol’s art
Fot.

Jacob Aue Sobol – born in 1976 in Copenhagen is one of the most important contemporary photographers. He gained fame thanks to his dynamic black and white photography. It is distinguished by a delightful sense of form and unobvious features of the composition, characteristic of the compact cameras used by Sobol. He began his international career with the "Sabine" project, and the subsequent cycles "The Gomez Brito Family", "I Tokyo", "Arrivals and departures", "By the River of Kings", "Home", "America", "Road of Bones" - met with widespread interest from audiences and critics, bringing further distinctions, among them: Leica European Publishers Award (2009), Fogdals Foto Award (2007), Word Press Photo (2006).
