The history of photography is closely related to technological progress. Further improvements to the photographic process made it possible to shoot faster, lighter and more conveniently. The transition from glass plates to photographic films improved this process, miniaturized cameras, but in my opinion the most important invention in the 20th century was Leica Ur. The camera, which revolutionized photography, gave the possibility to move around during work, the freedom of framing at the same time maintained great image quality and small size that allowed to carry the Leica constantly with you. These features made the cameras with the characteristic red dot take artistic photography to completely different areas, enabled the creation of reportage, and made photography available and could be taken seriously by photographers. And it is this revolutionary change in looking at the world that I will talk about during this year's Vintage Photo Festival.
