Vintage Photo Festival at Helsinki Analog Festival 2026

18.04.2026 Vintage Photo Festival took part in the international AnalogFutures panel during the Helsinki Analog Festival, held in Helsinki – aUNESCO City of Design. The event took place in the prestigious OodiLibrary and brought together representatives of the analogue photographycommunity from across Europe.

The director of Vintage Photo Festival represented Bydgoszcz – a UNESCO City of Music – in a panel dedicated to the future of analoguephotography in the context of the dynamic development of digitaltechnologies and artificial intelligence. The discussion also featuredJenni Haili, Müge Yildiz and Jorden Senior, representing academic,artistic and research environments.The panel focused on the role of analogue photography in thecontemporary world — its materiality, its importance in fosteringmindful creative practices, and its potential in the context ofsustainability and hands-on processes. It highlighted the growingimportance of analogue techniques as a conscious artistic choice and aresponse to the digitalisation of culture.

The participation of Vintage Photo Festival in the event was madepossible thanks to long-term international collaboration and its activeinvolvement in the The Analog Photography Festival Network, whichenables the exchange of experience, the development of joint projects,and strengthens the presence of Bydgoszcz on the map of Europeancultural events.The event was an important element in promoting Bydgoszcz as a UNESCO Creative City and a centre of culture and visual arts, actively engagedin the international circulation of ideas and artistic practices.Special thanks to Katri Lassila for the invitation to participate in thepanel.
